In Vidigami, in order to ensure that every user is unique and consistent across school years, the system relies on an identifier known as a User Host ID. Vidigami references two types of IDs that each user must have.
- Host (External) IDs.
Host IDs are how vidigami defines identifiers created and assigned to members of the school community by other external databases such as Student Information Systems (SIS), Content Management Systems (CMS), and other applications that house student/parent/staff information.
For consistency and maintenance. it is highly recommended that Administrators use the same External Host ID for every user when inviting them to Vidigami (see Invite Users).
If the school doesn't have a system that provides unique IDs, Administrators may use the email address, which is unique for each user. However, note that in the event of 2 or more users sharing a single email address, Vidigami will only be able to process one user. - Vidigami ID
A Vidigami ID assigned to every user in Vidigami under their Host ID. The Vidigami ID is what Vidigami uses to internally distinguish different people and groups within the system.
