Mobile Upload Interface
Upload Photos and Clips to a Page or Collection
Clicking "Upload" and selecting a file will bring up the "Share to a Page or Collection" box.
This option box is accessible anywhere in Vidigami when users click "Upload."
When sharing to a page, users can select one of the recommended pages (based on recent activity), or select "Search All Pages" to find a specific page to upload content to.
Choosing "Add to A Collection" will bring up the search function for collections. Either select your collection from the list, or click "Create New Collection" to make a new one.
Users can also upload media directly into Vidigami by simply dragging and dropping files into the browser.
Tip: Once an upload has begun, it will continue in the background. Users can simultaneously open multiple Uploaders for different albums to save time while navigating elsewhere in Vidigami.
The Add Video modal allows uploading videos up to 5 minutes long individually. Users can drag and drop a video, or select the file from their computer and can share to a page or collections just like a photo upload.
Admins and Managers can embed videos from YouTube or Vimeo. Users must have the "Add External Video" permission to be able to add videos from YouTube and Vimeo.
Note: Embedded videos are not 'uploaded' to Vidigami, but rather 'hosted externally' so they can be centralized. Users will still have the ability to modify key information associated with embedded videos within Vidigami.
To insert or embed an external video into Vidigami:
Copy the share link of a video from Vimeo:
Paste the link from YouTube or Vimeo into the embed field.
If the link is accepted, users will be able to review the following information:
- Description* (pulled from the YouTube or Vimeo description)
- Caption (allows users to add more context to the video upload)
- With (for videos that the student created with others in the Vidigami system)
- Created By (The video creator - will be tagged in that user's feed)
- Tags (add relevant tags in order to be found on Vidigami)
- Copyright (allows the copyright holder to be displayed)
*These items can be edited at a later time. Once completed, select Submit to insert the video to the album.
When a thumbnail for a video is not properly generated by Youtube, Vidigami is unable to embed that video in the system.
To correct this problem:
- Sign in to YouTube.
- Go to Creator Studio > Video Manager.
- Next, to the video, click Edit.
- On the left of the preview screen, choose a thumbnail.
- Click Save changes.
