The lightbox is the primary media viewer in Vidigami. It displays images in a large format and plays videos. It also allows users to update any information associated with the media.

The lightbox displays the following information:
- Album Title - Displayed in the top-left corner of the Lightbox. The Album title is a hyperlink to the album.
- Uploaded By - Indicates who uploaded the media to Vidigami. Knowing who uploads what enables the school to manage accountability at all times.
- Upload Date - This the date the photo or video was uploaded to Vidigami.
Users can perform the following actions in the Lightbox:
- Like Media - This action will add the photo or video to the Likes tab of the user Portfolio page (See Portfolio).
- Face Tagging- Vidigami uses a face recognition algorithm that allows users to tag registered users by displaying a white rectangle around the detected faces. Users may click on this box and proceed to type a name. A dropdown list will appear with every member in the current group (See Face Tagging).
- More Info - Users can update:
- Media Title - The title of the specific photo or video.
- Description - Add context to the media and share a story about that moment.
- Date and time captured - Edit the time and date the media was captured.
- With - A tagging capability where users can add people who are included in the media, but whose faces may not necessarily be detected. This is commonly used to identify people in videos.
- Created By - Add a creator or author of a piece of work or project. This will add the media to that user's Work tab under their Portfolio page (see Portfolio).
- Tags - Add additional context tags to the media aside from the ones it inherits from the album and group (see tags).
- Copyright - Add an individual or organization name as the copyright holder.
- Please note that copyright is automatically applied to an image uploaded to Vidigami if that feature has been enabled for the file in software prior to upload (e.g. Adobe Lightroom).

- Display Copyright - Toggle the "Display Copyright" checkbox underneath the Copyright field to display the copyright holder's name on the image. This checkbox will be disabled if the copyright field is empty.
- Protect Image - Toggle the "Protect image" checkbox underneath the Copyright field to display a watermark on top of the image
Please note: "Display copyright" and "Protect Image are mutually exclusive. - Original File Name - The exact file name that the media had before it was uploaded into Vidigami.
- Size (in pixels) - Image resolution and how large the media is, which is useful for checking whether the quality will be good for printing into a book or other publications.
The following options exist in the bottom-right corner of the lightbox:
- Add to Sets - Add the media to a new or existing set in Vidigami (See Sets).
- Download - Download the web or original version of a photo (See Download Media)
- Move - media to a different album within the group (see Move Media)
- More options (...)
- Set as Album Cover - Change the current thumbnail for the album to the selected image.
- Rotate - Change the orientation of the media by 90 degrees either clockwise or counterclockwise.
- Report Media - In the event of inappropriate content, reporting or flagging will immediately unshare the media in Vidigami and notify the admin (See Report Media)
- Delete - Only the owner and the Administrator have the ability to delete media from the system.
